Decorations and a Movie

We left to drive to Ashland about 3:30 yesterday.   It got very dark before we collected Jaime just before 5:30.   We stopped at a Cracker Barrel on the way home.   Today we put up the tree and decorated. At 12:00 we left to go to the big city of Roseburg where we saw “Wonka” – I absolutely LOVED how a few of the songs from the original production (with Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka) were incorporated into this production - along with the original Oompa Loompa appearance.  So many scenes reminded me of other movies: Les Miserables (except the girl was called Noodle rather than Cozette), a Whoville type scene,   La La Land or the Greatest Showman,  and at least two others I can’t remember as I write this post.   I think the thing I enjoyed most about it was hearing Jaime’s enjoyment. We then started to tackle the trees in the yard.   Our Mountain Goat was up for the challenge.   We decided that w...

Birthday WOW (that's MOM spelled upside down)

I know I make worse of situations inside of my head than how they really are – especially if I haven’t gotten a proper amount of sleep.  I know I shouldn’t be uptight and I know I shouldn’t dwell on what I can’t change – like missing dishes that have made their way out of the kitchen and haven’t been returned.  My imagination runs away with me and I get carried away – which reminds me this skit of Ernie returning a vacuum cleaner.            Often when I allow things to get out of hand the real life situation will have the opposite results and I find I have worked myself up for nothing.   Yesterday I had gone to the temple though Satan had done his best to keep me away.   After the session had ended Richard and I continued to Ashland to collect Jaime to bring her home for the next four days.   She presented me with a cup that has an owl on the side.   She said it was for my birthday (w...

God Said "No"

Jaime said she would not have classes today or tomorrow and could I come get her? but she would need to return on Saturday as she has tickets to see a play. An hour and a half is not that far But gas prices are outrageous. Perhaps I could just spend a  few nights in Ashland. Richard said it was okay.   We prayed about our decision. John Mayer did not reveal a promising forecast - though  yesterday did seem more driveable than it is currently. I went and got my hair done yesterday and was talking to my hair dresser who also advised against driving down with all those mountain passes to go through. What mountains?   I'm from Utah.   Those are just hills. Snow is/was in the hills. It melts pretty quickly. Too cold to snow. But not too cold to freeze. And it has rained. I could slip on ice. Or another car could slip into me. So many drivers seem to be in a hurry. I wouldn't be in a hurry. I would be hitting every rest stop between here and Ashl...
