Another Weird Dream

Neither Richard nor I have been sleeping well lately.   He caught a virus due to stress and probably room temperature.   I always wake up hot and he has a pile of blankets.   He coughs.   Bonnie snores.   One or the other of us will leave the room.   He turns on the TV.   It is ALWAYS loud.   I can ’ t return to sleep when there is noise.   But somehow between two and four I slept hard.   Really hard.   I know it was hard because I had a nightmarish dream.   “ I had gotten out of bed for something (probably to go to the bathroom) and when I returned my end table and all contents had disappeared.   I remember looking for them in some kind of office building.   That was weird. “ Later on, while in bed I heard a noise and gone to the window to investigate a noise. I saw our car back up out of the driveway.   Surprisingly there had been enough light to i...

The Sound of Rain

Image
Even before Bonnie came to live with us, Jenna found a comforting sound (to her) to drown out the noise of the chickens and roosters who crow all hours of the day.   She turns the phone setting to rain falling.   I don’t recall having heard it until after Bonnie had come to live with us.   That is because Bonnie snores loudly.   LOUD.   Like “wake up the dead” kind of loud. Jenna has turned up the volume in order to drown out the noise.

Sleep Interupted

Bruce didn ’ t set his alarm   back to standard.   I don ’ t think he cares.   He doesn ’ t crow at sunrise.   He crows 3-4 hours before.   Are you kidding me?     It ’ s dark.   I ’ m trying to sleep.   Bruce, if you are going to continue going off every morning before there is even a crack of dawn, you are no longer welcome in our yard.   You and your harem.   I don ’ t hear them making noise before the crack of dawn.   When Bruce finally shuts up I hear Jenna talking to Bonnie – asking if she needs to go out.     Bonnie ’ s tag jingling down the hall.   I hear the door open.   Jenna letting Bonnie out. What time is it?   Why are there so many noises?   I want to sleep!   I got up at 7:00.   It ’ s now light enough outside for me to see.   That means I could go pick up Jenna again – at least until ...

Wasted Time or Wasted Mind

I attended the webinar lecture though my mind wasn't as present as my body. Not as though I was seriously in the mood anyway There were too many sounds drowning out the lecture First of all, my instructor had a sore throat.  He didn't quite sound like Darth Vader throughout the entire lecture There was no wheezing - but a lot of deep throat My neighbor's acoustics were going and the sirens from fire department started wailing loudly. One of my classmate forgot she had turned on her mike  and failed to turn it off before she attempted to discipline children making noise in background. My instructor finally muted her and kept referring to the time which made me laugh as he seemed more anxious to finish the lecture than I was.  I should have left the lecture earlier I suppose. I really didn't get anything out of it.
