Waiting

             Election Day was three days ago and we still don’t know who the president is for the next four years.  I am hoping NOT Trump and yet at the same time, I know there will be violence from some Trump supporters who don’t understand that bullyism and threats do not make any country great.  They are abusing their freedoms and taking away others’ freedoms. 

There are so many ballots – more than any other year.  Perhaps four times as many.  It takes a long time to count – especially if there are less volunteers due to COVID.  If Joe Biden wins, I hope he sends in a crew to sterilize the white house and not move in for another month or two after his inauguration – that is if Big Baby Trump and his groupies don’t make it such an unrealistic ordeal. 

Joe Biden has campaigned for being for the people – all people – whether he was voted in by that person or not.  Trump will not honor those who didn’t vote for him.  He won’t have any problem stepping on the ones who did.  Unfortunately, some of those who voted for him still won’t know any better. 

The economy is going to be horrible no matter which one gets in.  Trump will have his followers believing everything is great, that we will all be able to return to work and thrive and that COVID will go away.  COVID will not go away.  Other nations are getting second waves of COVID – but the Americans will never get a second wave.  You know why?  Because we will never succeed  at getting over the first!

Too many have the attitude of “Open right now.” “We need our jobs” “We need to spend money” . . . not only are we battling COVID but flu season is here.  There are states fighting the elements in addition to the COVID.  They’re not returning to work.  They have to rebuild their cities.  They have been damaged in several weeks.  Returning to work is not the number one concern right now.  It is rebuilding their homes, their lives, this nation . . .

The country opened too soon.  People got bored.  They somehow forgot.  The media reports cases within various schools – now taking precautions by sending the entire class, busload, pod or whatever into quarantine to be monitored for the next two weeks.  Football players and firemen are testing positive.  Really?  Who thought restarting football was a good idea?  Fireman are necessary.  Front line workers: necessary.  Resteraunts – a way to make a living for the owners and workers – but not necessary for the patrons.  Jenna and I haven’t had our hair cut since January.  It’s not so much that we need it cut as we need it thinned out.  But again, it’s not an essential.  It’s not like a necessity such as treatment or food.

The nation is apprehensive right now.  Our current president is a racist and a liar.  He has threatened to leave the country if he doesn’t win.  Good riddens.  I hope he does flee the country!  I hope he takes his family of supporters with him!  Maybe there will be room for them in Greenland.

Let the Sunshine In!

 

                The skies are clear and the sun is shining through.  It’s about 54 degrees – 10 degrees warmer than three hours ago.  Looks and feels like a completely different day.

             This morning there was a dingy fog.  Thick. Appearance was not clean.  It felt eerie – mirroring the upcoming election.

            Tomorrow is the last day to vote. Whatever the results there’s going to be tension.  It’s as though the fog was a sign of what’s to come.

ion.  He will not leave the white house gracefully.  His mindless fans will protect him.  I cannot even grasp the behavior of so many who refuse to see what is right in front of them or hear what words come out from Donald Trump’s mouth.  They’re mesmerized.  I don’t get it.

             If Biden should lose the election – well, we are all doomed.  Perhaps there won’t be the same uproar of militia.  The pain will spread out over the next four years.

 

            I want the view of today to be a message for me to believe that everything will be alright. 

Halloween and Elections: Both Haunting

 Jenna LOVES Halloween!  For her it is the most exciting holiday of all federal and non federal holidays. Halloween starts early each election year – especially in this decade we call 2020.  Halloween that started in March and has introduced each month with a new “scare” tactic.  California has denounced having Halloween this year.  Not so much to do with Corona but because of the wild fires. Our nation has looked at Halloween head-on.  The latest has been with the presidential and vice-presidential debates.  Is demonstrating childish behavior really a part of the politician’s criteria?

“I want to hear what your credentials are – not what crazy theories (or made up lies) you may have about your opponent.” 

When both opponents are slinging mud, it’s really hard to decide.  What is up with the “leadership” of this nation?  Enough with the mudslinging, name calling and so forth!  I would like to hear each side without the constant interruptions or immaturity.  At least the vice presidential debate was not as childish as the presidential.  That was shear torture!

Both candidates skirted around each question answering with the typical political “let me avoid the question by talking about the issue at hand without really saying anything” or else point fingers about how their opponent will or will not handle instead of volunteering what their own merits are.  The most interesting thing about the VP debate was the fly that landed on Mike Pence’s head.  

I wish they had picked Judge Judy to monitor the debates.

 Journalists had timed the fly’s landing for over two minutes.  Pence hadn’t even noticed.  Roland said he thought the fly was stuck in whatever goop Mike Pence had placed on his head. I loved Trevor Noah’s commentary here.

 

I am not near as bothered by the presidential as I am with the two running for congressman for district 4 in the state of Oregon.  I had never heard of Alek Skarlatos until he was made a “celebrity” on Dancing With the Stars here.  If that doesn't scream pollical choice, I don't know what does.

 He is one of two running for congress.  I told my brother he might have a good chance of being voted in as his was the only name that was ever mentioned either for or against.  The anti Skarlatos ads came with “This is Peter D. and I approve this message” – I wasn’t even certain I about his last name until Alek Skarlatos commercials started slamming whatever credentials DeFazio has or does not have - mostly his age and having been in office for far too long.  Way to go, Skarlatos campaigning.  Should have left well alone and allowed Alek’s name to remain without slinging (or trying to sling) mud about his opponent.  Thus I am not impressed with either one.  

I HATE mudslinging.  Again, I would like to know your merits based on the candidate who is talking. 

Here’s another great Trevor Noah on government hiding health issues.  I still have my doubts about Trump ever having got Corona in the first place, but did take down my “Suspicions and Disbelief” post for a few days until he made this “miraculous” exit from the hospital.  Trump is such an ass.  Elephants have great memories.  Perhaps he ran under the wrong party?

Suspicions and Disbelief

             The media has picked up the story that Donald Trump has tested positive for Covid and he and Malania are going to quarantine themselves for the next two weeks.  The story says that Ivana Trumps personal assistant had tested positive and therefore Trump was tested too?  Of course FOX was probably the first to build up this story and I think that is all it is.  A story.  Another lie.  A scam.  Another ploy to build sympathy among his faithful followers.  The debates of course can’t possibly take place now.

            My guess would be that after he screwed things up for himself at the debate – his new campaign manager or whoever had suggested that Donald Trump pose in front of a church holding a Bible (like what would Donald Trump know about religion?) told Donald to Tweet and others followed.  I have absolutely no proof, but I think it’s a hoax.

            First of all, since when has he ever acknowledged anyone else in the Whitehouse?  Each time someone has tested positive he is always like, “Well I don’t even know this person.  I’ve never met this person.” And yet there are photographs to say otherwise.

            Secondly, since when has Donald Trump EVER been responsible?  He mocks the mask, even quarantine, and now he wants to give the impression that he cares?!?!?  I don’t believe him.  Everything that has ever come out of his mouth has been a lie.

            And third, as I have mentioned in my last post, Trump is a villain.  Villain’s don’t test positive for Coronavirus.  I’m not unsympathic if he really does have the disease.  But if this overweight 74 year old man with pasty skin isn’t hospitalized and magically survives this I am certain it will be to get out of finishing the debates and not because he really even took a test.  

    Granted, there were tight spaces, no social distancing, little wearing of masks - so it is possible but too "convenient" or "coincidental" to be at this time. What a kroc!!!! (I may have to repent of these thoughts as tomorrow is Conference)

Do You Pray About Direction on Who to Vote for?

                In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we are taught that we existed before we came to earth.  Our Heavenly Father had presented a plan for each of us to experience life on earth.  Lucifer wanted to represent each of us in returning us home safely.  He wanted to make heaven great again.  He also wanted all of the glory.  Jehovah said he thought it would be better if we made our own choices and exercised our free agency.  2/3 of God’s children supported Jehovah’s plan while the other third didn’t want to make choices or think for themselves.  They weren’t Republicans necessarily because the Republican Party did not exist at that time (listen here)

                I find it interesting that the ones who followed Jesus wanted to make choices and exercise a free agency that we probably didn’t even understand – just as many Trump supporters don’t seem to understand now.  They read his tweets and take his words as golden truth but fail to actually listen to the man.  Seriously.  How could a person watch him speak and genuinely believe he knows what he’s talking about? HE DOESN’T!  He is such an overgrown self-centered child! 

  

                When I read through posts of others who seem to worship and idolize him I just shake my head with disbelief. Some of these are people I love.  I can’t understand the method to their madness. I often wonder if that is how I felt towards my brothers and sisters who decided to follow Satan.  On June 23 I wrote this post which has been in my draft box ever since.

              I don’t know which is worse, the coronavirus or the stupidity of some individuals who seem to make it hard for everybody else.  I heard on the news that Paris and Spain (wasn’t France and Spain or Paris and Madrid.  Two different sources – one using the capital and the other mentioned by country) have just barely gone into phase one.  Now these are other countries that had the virus before the US did.  Why did the United States feel superior to open in phases long before countries who were hit before?  Too many believing the numbers given are a hoax.  There is no way that US would have more cases than China.  I don’t know how accurate the numbers are in China, but it doesn’t surprise me that we have more cases.  It has always been my opinion that we opened too soon, and now cases are skyrocketing because some citizens couldn’t wait.

            That is just the tip of the surface.  Today I heard Trevor Noah comment on the politics of wearing the mask.  Certainly there are drawbacks to wearing them, but come on!  Show some respect for those you may come in contact with.  I don’t know anybody who likes wearing them, but they are required in many public places and should be.  Get over yourselves already! I will wear a mask just to offend Trump and his supporters.  

                He evidently fired his old campaign manager and has seemed to be following the counsel of his new one – except for when he is on Twitter and then it is free domain.  What an idiot.  What kind of president has so much free time he is willing to tweet so often that running a country is not a priority – especially during the cornonavirus.  But hey, there’s an election coming up so he will act a certain way in front of the cameras – or try to anyway.  He wants to remain president until the virus is gone.  No, no, please.  The last three years were tough enough but throwing COVID into the mix this year has been torute on our nation (or rather our reaction has)

                George Washington is the only president who won the 100% of the votes.  His party?  Democratic Republican.  Democrats have always been around.  The opposing party were Federalists, Wigs, Republicans.  I wonder if Trump has tarnished the Republican name enough that it will be changed to something else.  And why not?  We are, afterall, living in a time that we want to either deny or erase history.  Perhaps it will go away if all of the reminders are gone.

                I can’t believe how many people vote for a candidate based on party.  Oh, please.  Just because your family has voted that way for the last four generations doesn’t make it set in stone that you have to. 

 Fortunately there are those wise enough to see that it really is time for a change.

                So many Trump supporters repost without checking facts.  They make themselves seem uneducated and ignorant when they don’t check resources, spelling, or grammatical errors.

I have compared Trump to Satan and to Hitler

Why would any of us be willing to follow any of them?  We need leaders NOT dicatators or selfish babies (see here).  Think about it, make a decision and pray about who you think you want to vote for.  As I mentioned four years ago there are third party options.  Just be wise.
