Family Hopping

We had made arrangements for Ryan (aka Tony) to come pick us up from the bus depot.   He met us at 6:15 in the morning and took us to my sisters house where we would sleep – or attempt to anyway.   We were introduced to the family dogs Sadie and Donny.   Gary was asleep on the couch where we’d be sleeping – or trying to and Jerry asked if we would give him permission to use us in a youtube video.   He then taught us a geography game which I had assumed he wanted us to play while filming for the youtube video.   But that is a far as it got.   Perhaps we weren’t worthy subjects for his channel?           For the most part we spent time with Ryan and his family while Ryan was off and before the kids had to go back to school.   We played games with them and then Ryan took us all to Dee’s for dinner.   After he brought us back to my sister’s house, we played games with her family.   Playing gam...

Beginning of Isolation

Image
This morning my alarm went off as I had set a reminder to meet with the bishop this morning.   Of course that never happened.   It is weird not going to church on Sunday.   The dismal air outside mirrors the way Jenna and I feel with summoned isolation. Jenna and I watched a “Come Follow Me” video before reading Jacob in its entirety.    She still plans to study independently according to her daily schedule starting with seminary and each class that she has – except for maybe one of her math classes as she has no reference from the school.   I told her to watch math videos during that time. I did get a message from the friends of Myrtle Creek library.   They may be staying open as they are not considered to be a public library.   However, the library is still in a city-owned building and so the decision may not solely be left for patrons and volunteers of the library to decide. This is such an odd reality – or is it?   A...

Why Are There More Cars Than People?

Almost every week that we drive to church, we get behind a car that isn’t going quite as fast as Roland believes it should.   He jokes about it because nine out of ten times we will follow it all the way to the Catholic Church before it turns into the parking lot.   Roland will then speed up though there is less than 20 seconds left before we arrive at the LDS church.   This morning an ambulance passed us as we were heading to town.   It did not get on the freeway but continued on past the school.   And guess where it turned?   The Catholic Church parking lot.   We left the house a bit later than usual and so the parking lot was pretty filled by the time we got to church.   Every family must have brought a car for each driver in the family.   I don’t know why the parking lot seemed so full when the chapel didn’t appear so.   It appeared that half the pews were empty – more so tha...
